As a demonstrator, we have the privilege of preordering selected items from upcoming catalogs. I received my preorder this past week and just had to install the Fan Fair Collection DVD to see what all was on the disc. Oh my goodness...I am blown away by the beautiful designer series papers in this collection! The collection also has a punch, embellishments, and a large stamp brush set. This collection is also available in traditional format of stamps and designer series paper. You will definitely want to have this on your want list to purchase when the new catalog is active on June 1. Oh, do I like Tuesdays! This is the day that Stampin' Up! releases new digital downloads for My Digital Studio. I always get up in anticipation of seeing what cool things I can download to use in my digital designing. This week did not disappoint me. Since my husband and I are about to embark on an extended RV trip with our two dachshounds, I just HAD to get the Fifty Nifty Kit! When I saw the thumbnail in the PDF of this week's downloads, I was sorry to see that Alaska and Hawaii were not included in the thumbnail but I bought the download anyway. I was not disappointed! Hybrid Travel Journal Card

 

Supplies: My Digital Studio (118108), Travel Journal Designer Series Paper from Travel Journal Designer Kit (121071), Large Arrow Punch included on My Digital Studio software or from Punch Shapes (118853), Photobox - 11 punch from Check This Out Designer Page Templates (129921), Peach Parfait cardstock (119794)

Since we are selling our Alaskan home and putting everything (almost...not all my stamps for sure!) in storage, I decided we needed to get our long-overdue Christmas letter mailed out. We plan to travel in our 5th wheel trailer for about 9 months before we settle down once again. That is why I think this card is so clever and appropriate! I created this very hybrid card to go with the letter. The Alaskan Mobile Home image is from a stamp I bought maybe 15 years ago. I stamped and colored the image with watercolor crayons. Then I scanned it into my computer and inserted into the Photobox - 11 punch. I used a slightly larger punch colored with Night of Navy as a mat. Then I added the rest of the card. Finally, I printed it out and mounted it on Peach Parfait cardstock.

Next Tuesday is May 1st already! My May edition of The Soggy Stamper Newsletter will be published on Tuesday. That means you have only a couple of days to subscrib. The process is easy. Happy Monday morning! To get your Monday off to a cheerful start, I have created this great Birthday card using the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper that is currently being promoted as a sneak peek of something in the upcoming 2012-2013 catalog. Every May, Stampin' Up! sends out a list of stamp sets that will no longer be carried in the catalog. The list this year is a little longer due to changes in the catalog and mini catalog program. Click on the link above to see and download the list. If you are like me, you have some stamp sets that you have wanted but havwn't ordered yet. Now is your last chance to get some of them. Beginning June 1st they won't be available so look over the list and check it twice. Then visit my online store to place your order.

Keep checking back as I will also be posting the retiring accessories list as soon as it comes out. When an accessories is retired, it is on a 'as supply lasts' basis so you will want to jump on ordering what you want as soon as the list comes out.

Terrific Wednesday - Presto Patterns Overlays

Did you check out the new downloads yesterday? If you missed them, you can check them out and then order them here. They are shown on the right side of my store front. Click on each image to see a larger photo of the download and a great description. I ordered the Presto Patterns Overlays because I love the floral frame included with this download. Here is what you get with this download for only $7.95:

The card at the top of this post was so quick to make the floral frame overlay. I added Marina Mist cardstock for the background. Then I enlarged the square punch to leave just a border of Marina Mist and filled the punch with Downtown Grunge designer series paper - 4. (I love that wrinkled craft paper look!) I then applied the overlay and resized it to about a 3.6" width and used Early Espresso color. I added the sentiment from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp brush set and the scallop dotted ribbon in Marina Mist to finish off the card.

My Digital Studio Monday - Forever Young

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper here in SE Alaska. Our design team assignment over on Utah Divas International was to create using Always Artichoke, Lucky Limeade and Basic Black. I took the liberties of adding Whisper White to the color scheme. I started with the idea of having just one Labels Collection punch filled with Lucky Limeade. Then I remembered that two are better than one so I layered a smaller black one over the Lucky Limeade one. That reminded me of a cameo so I stamped the girl swinging in the tree from the Forever Young stamp brush set in Whisper White on the black label. The image is very large so you need to shrink it down a lot to make it fit. The Happy Birthday is from the Bring on the Cake stamp brush set and I typed the bottom greeting using Segoe Script 20 pt. My Digital Studio - Terrific Hexagon Punch download

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper's Terrific Tuesday. You never know what will spark your creativity. When I saw the Hexagon Punch in today's new downloads, I was totally underwhelmed with it and wasn't going to purchase that download. Then I read Kimberly Morris's comment on the LateNightStampersDemoOnly group about the possibilities of the punch and filling it with all our wonderful designer series papers...hmmm! So here is the result of that comment for me. I definitely had no clue this morning that I'd end up with this wonderful scrapbook page of my oldest granddaughter so suddenly grownup!
